Elton John will appear live at the Carlson Center on Thursday, May 29, 2008 as part of the 2008 Tour: Rocket Man • Number Ones.
“We are extremely excited and honored to host Sir Elton John’s first trip to Alaska.” Said Kirk Patton, General Manager, Carlson Center. “This is a major happening in the state and we appreciate the hard work of everyone involved for making this a reality. Folks are in store for a spectacular night of music from one of the world’s legendary entertainers.”
Elton John in this solo performance will play his greatest hits and more recent songs from his latest release, Rocket Man•Number Ones.
Elton John has sold more than 200 million records and continues to add innovative work to his personal repertoire of 29 consecutive Top 40 hits, 35 gold and 25 platinum albums. Rocket Man•Numbers Ones, just released in March, debuted in the top 10 and features newly compiled and digitally mastered greatest hits spanning the first three decades of the singer- songwriter’s career.

Fairbanks Grizzlies it is!
IFL Opponents Prepare to be Mauled!
11.13.07 – Fairbanks, AK. Today at the Carlson Center Team Owner Chad Dittman unveiled the team’s name and  logo. The Fairbanks Grizzlies was selected from over 1500 entires. The Grizzlies would like to thank everyone that participated in the week long contest. O ne lucky Fairbanks resident out of 25 was randomly selected as the winner of the contest and will forever be tied to the organization for entering the name. Tami Howard will receive front row season tickets, an official game jersey, two roundtrip tickets to a game in Texas and will also be an honorary coin tosser at the Grizzlies Inaugeral Home Game on March 15, 2008 at the Carlson Center. “I am so excited to have won the contest and I can’t wait for the games to start so I can support the Grizzlies,” stated Name the Team Winner Tami Howard.
The team logo was designed by local Fairbanks resident William Howe (Owner of Outlaw Signs). “Bill worked night and day on the logo and we are very proud of the job he did and expect folks here in Fairbanks to love it as well,” stated owner Chad Dittman. “We wanted to have a logo that symbolized Fairbanks to everyone around the United States and we feel like with the grizzly, pick axe and snow ca pped mountain we have covered Fairbanks pretty well,” added Dittman.

IFL Announces Fairbanks’ Team Schedule
October 26, 2007- The Intense Football League has announced the game schedule for the new Fairbanks Team, whose name is yet to be announced. Each of the nine teams in the Intense Football League will play a total of 14 games throughout the season, which runs March 1 through June 28 and a two round playoff in July.
“We are very excited about the IFL Fairbanks Franchise Home Schedule. The opportunity to have the last (2) games of the season against the Alaska Wild should establish an intense rivalry. I think everyone in Fairbanks is waiting in anticipation to hear the announcement regarding the Fairbanks Team's Official name and logo.” –Carlson Center General Manager, Kirk Patton.
